Lab Infrastructure Diagram
The diagram below shows you the SaaS services and On-Premises virtual machines you will be interacting with in the labs.
Objective and Tasks
Review and become familiar with the lab environment:
1. Verify the Availability of Tools
2. Log In to the Training Servers
3. Log In to the Workspace ONE UEM Console
4. Log In to the Workspace ONE Access Console
Task 1: Verify the Availability of Tools
You verify the availability of tools that you use in the lab environment.
- Ensure that the required tools are ready and available.
- Computer: You must use a PC or Mac that gives you access to the Workspace ONE UEM training environment.
- Endpoints: iOS and macOS devices are needed for some of the labs. If you do not have an iOS or macOS device, you should still proceed with the labs. However, you will be unable to see the results of each lab without a device.
Browser: You must use a modern browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, to access the lab environment. In the lab environment, you must only use the installed Google Chrome browser to complete the lab activities.
Task 2: Log In to the Training Servers
Log in to the ControlCenter VM and access the Connector VM.
- When connected to your lab environment, you will be brought to a screen from the ControlCenter VM.
At the top-left of the screen, you will see an icon of a keyboard. Click on the keyboard icon, and a dropdown will appear, showing an option, “Ctrl+Alt+Delete”. Click on that and now you can enter the password, which is “Pa$$w0rd” (Alternatively, from the right-hand side of the screen, next to UEM Admin Password, you can click on the box that says, “Pa$$w0rd”. This will automatically type in the password, so you don’t have to.)
- User name: administrator
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
- On the ControlCenter desktop, double-click the Remote Desktops folder.
-
In the folder you will find Remote Desktop links to VMs running in your environment.
This is the only VM that will be used in an upcoming Lab:
- WS1-Connector: Windows server to install the Workspace ONE Access connector and the server to install the AirWatch Cloud Connector.
-
In the Remote Desktop folder, double-click WS1-Connector.rdp
You are now connected to the WS1-Connector VM.
- Click x to close the Remote Desktop Connection window.
- Click OK if you receive a message that says, "Your remote session will be disconnected".
-
Close the Remote Desktops folder.
Task 3: Log In to the Workspace ONE UEM Console
- Open the Workspace ONE UEM administration console.
- On the ControlCenter desktop, double-click the Chrome icon.
-
From the bookmarks bar in Chrome, click Workspace ONE UEM.
NOTE: Optionally, you can enter https://techseals.awmdm.com/AirWatch in the address bar to access the Omnissa UEM Admin Console page.
- Log in to Workspace ONE UEM with your unique credentials:
- User name: studentadmin{labid}
-
Password: Pa$$w0rd
NOTE: You will see your username on the far right-hand side of the screen in the box next to UEM Admin Username, resembling, “StudentAdmin########” . You can click on that box to have the UEM Admin Username automatically typed in for you, wherever your cursor is positioned. Alternatively, you can type it in yourself. The # numbers represent your Lab ID. If you click on the password box that says, Pa$$w0rd, it will automatically type that wherever your cursor is positioned.

- Agree and ACCEPT the Omnissa General Terms.
