Objective and Tasks
Review and become familiar with the lab environment:
1. Verify the Availability of Tools
2. Log In to the Training Servers
3. Log In to the Workspace ONE UEM Console
4. Log In to the Workspace ONE Access Console
Task 1: Verify the Availability of Tools
You verify the availability of tools that you use in the lab environment.
1. Ensure that the required tools are ready and available.
- Laptop: You must use a PC or Mac that gives you access to the Workspace ONE UEM training environment.
- Endpoint: Windows 11 and Linux VMs are provided for you in this course.
- Browser: You must use a modern browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge,to access the lab environment. In the lab environment, you must only use the installed Google Chrome browser to complete the lab activities.
Task 2: Log In to the Training Servers
You familiarize with the lab VMs by accessing the Connector and Win11 VMs.
1. Log in to the ControlCenter desktop VM.
- User name: administrator
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
2. On the ControlCenter desktop, double-click the Remote Desktops folder.
3. In the folder you will find Remote Desktop links to VMs running in your environment.
Familiarize yourself with the purpose of each VM:
- WS1-Connector: Windows server to install the Workspace ONE Access connector and the server to install the AirWatch Cloud Connector
- W11Client-01a: Windows 11 VM for device enrollment
- W11Client-02a: Windows 11 VM for device enrollment
4. In the Remote Desktop folder explorer window, double-click W11Client-01a.
You are now connected to the W11Client-01a.
6. Click x to close the Remote Desktop Connection Manager application and ignore any active connections warnings.
Task 3: Log In to the Workspace ONE UEM Console
1. Open the Workspace ONE UEM administration console.
a. On the ControlCenter desktop, open Google Chrome.
b. From the bookmarks bar, select Workspace ONE UEM.
You can also enter https://techseals.awmdm.com/AirWatch in the address bar to access the console page.
c. Log in to Workspace ONE UEM with your unique credentials.
- User name: studentadmin{labid}
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
2. Once logged-in agree to the terms and conditions and set a passphrase and a four digit pin 1234.
3. Keep the Workspace ONE UEM console open for later labs.
Task 4: Log In to the Workspace ONE Access Console
You log in to the Workspace ONE Access console.
1. Open the Workspace ONE Access administration console.
a. On the Controlcenter Windows taskbar, click the Google Chrome icon and open a new tab.
b. Once a new tab is open click on the Access Password Reset URL displayed in the instructions bar on the right hand side of your lab window.
The link should auto-populate your URL field in Chrome with https://{labid}.vidmpreview.com/SAAS/auth/reset?.....
c. Click enter and you will land on the Omnissa Access change you password page.
NOTE: If you get a password reset link is expired message. Click on the Reset Access Password URL. This will give you a new link you can then paste into your browser.
d. Type Pa$$w0rd twice and click Change Password
d. Click Go To Sign in page
e. You should now land on the sign in page enter the follow:
- User name: admin
- Password: Pa$$word
2. If you receive a prompt to accept the terms and conditions, click Accept.
3. Note your Omnissa Access URL is - https://{labid}.vidmpreview.com
Keep the Workspace ONE Access console open for later labs.
NOTE |
On your first login, the Workspace ONE Access console might open the user portal. To access the administration console, you click the TA (Tenant Admin) icon in the top-right corner of the page and select Workspace One Access Console from the drop-down menu. |
