Task 1: Collect and view logs from a Windows Desktop device

You collect logs from a Windows Desktop device and view them in the Workspace ONE UEM console.

  1. Log in to the ControlCenter desktop VM.

    • User name: administrator

    • Password: Pa$$w0rd

  2. Open Chrome and log in to Workspace ONE UEM.

    • User name: studentadmin{labid}

    • Password: Pa$$w0rd

  3. In the upper-right corner of the console, click the drop-down menu with your administrator name and verify that Student{labid} organization group is selected from the Organization Group drop-down menu.

  4. In the navigation pane at the top, click Devices. Then. select Devices from the navigation on the left.

  5. In the list of enrolled devices, click on the friendly name for W11Client-01.

  6. Click the More Actions menu, and select Request Device Log.

  7. For source, select Hub.

  8. Set the Duration to Last 3 Days.

  9. Click in the Components field and select All Components.

  10. Click Save.

It might take a few minutes for the logs to be collected and sent to the Workspace ONE UEM console.

  1. Select the More tab and click on Troubleshooting.
  2. Scroll through the list of events in the Event Log.
  3. Click on the Commands tab. Here you can see a list of active commands waiting to be executed on the device.
  4. Click on the Pending Actions tab. Here you can view all pending actions waiting to be executed on the device.
  5. Select the Troubleshooting tab and select Attachments from the dropdown.
  6. Click the Documents tab.
  7. If the log request has compelted, you will see a log bundle in the list of documents.
  8. Select the name to download the log bundle zip file.
