Lab Getting started with Omnissa labs
Objectives and Tasks
1. Understand lab manual conventions and lab resources.
2. Verify the availability of tools.
3. Log into the training servers.
4. Log into the Workspace ONE UEM console.
5. Log into the Omnissa Access console.
Understanding lab manual conventions and lab resources
Review the lab manual conventions, lab support resources, and key elements of the user interface.
Typographical conventions
Boldface indicates selectable GUI control, including buttons, checkboxes, icons, list items, menus, sliders, and tabs.
Example: Select File > Save As.
Example: Select the Configuration tab.
A code block with text in a monospace font indicates command names, command options, parameters, and so on that you enter a command line.
Monospace font indicates user entry text.
Lab architecture and resources
The lab environment utilizes a multi-layered infrastructure to provide you with the resources to complete the tasks listed in the lab manual. These layers are as follows:
SaaS
Workspace ONE UEM and Omnissa Access are cloud-hosted as Software-as-a-Service applications. A new student tenant is provisioned for you when you launch your lab environment for the first time, providing you with a fully functional instance of both products. You will use this tenant throughout the duration of this course.
On Premise : Tier 1
Tier 1 contains virtual resources that are provisioned for you when you first launch the lab environment. These resources included devices you will interact with throughout the lab, as well as infrastructure resources required to support the lab environment. The role of each resource is detailed later in this section.
The diagram below depicts the devices within your lab environment.
The resources included in the lab are listed below.

Lab user interface
There are several key components in the lab user guide that you will interact with throughout this lab. Let's briefly discuss each of them.

Commands
menu | Provides users with advanced functionalities to interact with the virtual
machine or cloud platform used in the lab. |

menu | Contains virtual machine commands and display settings. |
| (3) VM
Switcher | Shows when there are multiple virtual machines attached to the lab and
allows you to switch between virtual machines easily. |
| (4) Full-screen | Maximizes the lab window with both, the lab environment and the lab instructions, into full-screen. Use the Escape (Esc) key to exit full-screen. |

panel | Displays the lab instructions and activities. |

Resources
panel | Contains lab resources such as virtual machines, cloud resources, and any
credentials needed to complete the lab instructions. |
Commands Menu
The Commands menu offers users advanced functionalities to interact with the virtual machines or cloud platform used in the lab. It provides a variety of basic keyboard commands, including Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Alt+Tab, and Windows key. Additionally, users can access a virtual keyboard if required.
VM menu
The VM menu is a handy feature that lets users send power commands, tweak the virtual machine’s appearance and connection in the lab, and even reconnect to the lab if the connection drops.
VM Switcher
The VM Switcher menu lists all of the VMs configured in the lab. Students use this menu to switch between VMs as required in the lab.
Instructions tab
On the Instructions tab, you can select usernames and passwords to enter them in the working virtual machine automatically.
Log into the Workspace ONE UEM console
1. From the VM selector on the top left , select ControlCenter
2. Login to the VM as Administrator with the password Pa$$word.
3. On the ControlCenter desktop, open Google Chrome.
4. From the bookmarks bar, click Workspace ONE UEM.
5. Log in to Workspace ONE UEM Admin console with your unique credentials. Username: studentadmin{labid} Password: Pa$$w0rd
You will see the username on the far right-hand side of the screen, in the box next to UEM Admin Username. You can type it in yourself, or click on the box, StudentAdmin{########}, to have it automatically type it in for you. The {########} represents your eight-digit Lab ID.
6. Click Next.
7. Enter the password : Pa$$w0rd assigned to your administrator account.
8. Click Log In.
9. Click Never if you get any pop-up windows, asking to "Save password?"
10. Agree and accept the Omnissa General Terms.
11. Choose a Recovery Question and Answer and configure.
10. Designate 1234 as your four-digit pin.
12. Click SAVE.
13. Keep the Workspace ONE UEM console open for later labs..
