Lab 16: Enrollment Second Windows Device (copied)
Objective and Tasks
Enroll Windows endpoints, and verify the enrollments:
- Setting source of authentication to Access
- Enroll a Windows Device
- Verify the Assignment Group
Task 1: Setting Source of Authentication to Access
- Open the Workspace ONE UEM administration console.
- On the ControlCenter Windows taskbar, click the Google Chrome icon.
- From the bookmarks bar, select Workspace ONE UEM.
- You can also enter https://techseals.awmdm.com/AirWatch in the address bar to access the console page.
- Log in to Workspace ONE UEM.
- User name: studentadmin{labid}
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
- On the Workspace ONE UEM console menu bar, verify that Student{labid} is selected from the Organization Group drop-down menu.
- In the navigation pane on the left, select GROUPS & SETTINGS > All Settings > Devices & Users > General > Enrollment.
- On the Authentication tab, Override should be selected, next to Current Setting.
- Next to Authentication Modes(s), the Basic and Directory check boxes should be selected.
- Next to Source of Authentication for Intelligent Hub, WORKSPACE ONE ACCESS should be selected.
- Note: In a previous lab this was set to UEM.
- Click SAVE.
Task 2: Enroll a Windows Device
You use the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub application to enroll a Windows VM to your Workspace ONE UEM environment.
- Log in to the ControlCenter VM.
- User name: administrator
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
- Open Remote Desktops folder on the desktop and double-click Win11Client-02a.RDP. If you get, "The publisher of this remote connection can't be identified. Do you want to connect anyway?", then click Connect.
- If you receive a prompt to log in to, enter the password for the local account.
- User name: techseals\jackie
- Password: Pa$$w0rd
- If a Get even more out of Windows dialog box appears, click Skip for now.
- From the Win11Client-02a VM desktop, open Chrome.
- Go to https://getwsone.com and click Download Hub for Windows x86/x64.
- Wait about 2 minutes. You will find the AirwatchAgent.msi file in the Downloads folder of File Explorer in the Win11Client-02a VM. Double-click the AirwatchAgent to start the installation.
- Note: Another way to start the installation, is at the top-right corner of the Chrome browser click on downward-facing arrow icon, a pop up of Recent download history will appear, and you can click on AirwatchAgent.msi to start the installation.
- When the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub Setup screen starts, click Next.
- Click I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
- Click Install.
- If you are prompted for username and password, type administrator and Pa$$w0rd click Yes
- Click Finish.
- After the installation is complete, the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub application will open automatically in about 4 minutes. If it does not open, you can click the W11Client-02a Start menu to open Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub manually.
- Enter the following Workspace ONE UEM enrollment information in the Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub application.
- Enter techseals.awmdm.com in the Email or Server Address text box.
- Click Next.
- Enter student{labid} in the Group ID text box.
- Click Next.
- The Workspace ONE Access login page appears.
- Select techseals.co from the Select your domain drop-down menu.
- Click Next.
- Enter jackie in the username text box.
- Enter Pa$$w0rd in the password text box.
- Click Sign In.
- If a Want an even better experience? message appears, click Not Now. You might have to scroll down to see it.
- From the Congratulations window, click Done.
- When the Hello, Jackie screen appears, Click Get Started while your apps continue downloading.
- Device enrollment continues.
- In a few minutes, the interface will change to show the Favorites, Apps, For You, Support, and Jackie Puun sections. This completes Enrollment.
- On the ControlCenter Windows taskbar, click the Google Chrome icon to return to the Workspace ONE UEM console.
- In the navigation pane on the left, select DEVICES > Devices. The Jackie Desktop Windows VM should appear in the list.
Task 3: Verify the Assignment Group
You verify that the enrolled devices are automatically included in the correct assignment groups.
- On the Workspace ONE UEM console menu bar, verify that Student{labid} is selected in the Organization Group drop-down menu.
- In the navigation plane on the left, select GROUPS & SETTINGS > under Groups heading > Assignment Groups.
- In the Windows Devices smart group line, verify that 2 appears in the Devices column.
